Yellow ABS, Brake and DTC Warning Light...

Just had to send mine to ecu and yes about £250 but had to pay for removal and refitting with brake bleeding by a local garage another £150.
 
I had the three yellow lights going on and off (mostly on) and it went back to the independent dealer under warranty. They said it was the ABS unit and would take 7 days to get a replacement. It was finally being delivered back to me on Christmas Eve when one of the lights came on again, so the driver spun it round and headed back to the dealer. By the time he reached the dealer it had gone off again.
They reckon that it could just be the "training period" for the new unit and will sort itself out but are keeping it under observation until the New Year just to be sure. Fortunately, they gave me a loaner!
Is the ABS unit the same thing as a hydro..?
 
Finally took mine in a few days ago, and faced with a total bill of about £1,600 for a new unit, fitting & re-programming if I want them to do it.
I'm seriously thinking of removing it and sending it to the guys that fix them, but does anyone know what the re-programming entails?
 
If by hydro you mean the ABS pump and attached ECU, does the E46 one fit? The z4 is basically an E46 with new body panels. I've got an ABS module for an E46 in my shed so I can try and find a part number off of it if you like.

That's kind of you, but it's a different unit from what I can tell on the M. Part No. 34516778490
 
So, after an email to BMW to see if they could match what others have had they said "Blue Bell Crewe has already been in touch with us and we’ve agreed to pay for 50% of the parts. We believe this is a fair offer - so we’re sorry this can’t be increased.
I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for and I’m sorry to disappoint you."

So £1,600 total is the best they can do at the dealer. That's more than 10% the value of the car to have a known common faulty part fixed.

After a dozen cars off them, time to move on. Goodbye BMW.

I have the DTC and Handbrake lights (orange) coming on intermittently (no ABS light fortunately), not due to bumps that I can tell but both times it's happened after an hour or so of driving and both times it's cleared after some random time (I don't take it out often).

The manual says having these two together mean the DSC/DTC both disabled but still OK to drive.

Sensor on the way out maybe?

You need to take to have the fault codes read if you haven't the equipment .
I had the same scenario on mine,turned out to be the pressure sensors on the abs pump.
 
I had this. Indy sent the unit to ecutesting and came back within a week, all working as it should AND with a lifetime g'tee.
Gotta be your best option surely.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, was about £300.

Hmm these lights just came on mine on the drive across to Manchester, going to try a battery disconnect and hopefully it'll clear them.

They came on when I turned my aircon on, but I don't know if that was just a co-incidence.

They did go off on the way home, but then came back on again about 20min into the drive, which makes me think it might be the sensor (hopefully)

Disconnected the multipin connector from the hydro unit and gave the unit a few "taps" for the heck of it, despite no codes showing on my scan gauge, I did a forced code clear and the lights went off as soon as I drove away. Not holding out for them staying off more more than a couple of miles though. I had one repaired by them on an Audi s4 , quick turn around and good service with any problems after , plus you already know how to take it off and replace it , so you'll save on any fitting costs .
Whip it off and post it to them , I wasn't disappointed
