Yellow ABS, Brake and DTC Warning Light...

Thanks :) I was all set this morning to have it repaired on Tuesday, it's costing me just over £1k to have done. Better than the original price of £2350 but now the faults gone again I just hope they have diagnosed it correctly.

They wouldn't offer me the same good will others have had, their excuse being the car has not had warranty for 4 years, I've only owned the car a year so that's not really in my control

Ah well, I'll be glad when this is all sorted. It's a busy week next week, this repair, fit my eibachs and new wheels, then.........MOT.

Pressure switch on the module throwing fault codes according to main stealer. Z4 is the only model BMW don't do a repair kit for from what I've read.

Hi - I had the same issues - mine needed a new control unit which is located under the drivers seat - £500.00 to supply and fit thanks to BMW!
Not sure I could have diagnosed, sourced and fitted my self - however I'm looking for a good independent mechanic especially as my Z is now 11 years old.
She failed her MOT with both rear springs being broken - total bill inc the DTC unit - £840.00
Still her tho"

Stupid fault code hasn't come back since the second time it cleared itself. I'm unsure of what to do now, I could potentially fork out £1k on Tuesday and not really know if there is a fault, or I could cancel it, loose BMW's good will gesture and then it come back. Also got MOT Friday so if it comes back for that I'm screwed.

I'm going to have to pop in Ocean tomorrow on my way home if its still not come back on :headbang:

Good luck - my solution - part cost was £363.95
For part - M34.52.6.764.018 180022/DSC SENSOR
+ replace rpm rate sensor DSC III @ £31.25
I also had diagnostic charges and a battery top up that made up the £447.00 total.
Not sure that helps - my pain was doubled as I also needed two new rear springs and an MOT - grand total £880.
As I noted earlier - I'm now looking for an independant garage... Thankfully the driving experience is still worth it - just.

That's not the fault I've been told I have, Hydro Unit DSC 34516778490, £1720.70

Wow... Seems I got off light with a lesser problem - I had the same dash warning lights - yellow brake / abs and DTC... Sorry to given any false hopes of a cheaper solution.... Good luck.

So..........

This has just happened again, 18 months after BMW replaced the hydro unit. I'll have to take it for diagnostic but does anyone have an idea of what guarantee I have?

I had a bit of good will last time but from where I'm standing, if it's the hydro again then I shouldn't be picking up the bill again, at all.

AIUI, any OEM parts fitted by BMW should have a 2-year warranty

Excellent, thanks Perry, it may just be abs sensor but worst case scenario is its the hydro. I love this car but for a car that started off with 1 owner and 19k mileage when I bought it, it's cost me a few £ in repairs.

Fault has cleared after disconnecting battery and driving car a couple days ago. Hopefully just a hick-up of a sensor.

£2,350!!!!! What the screaming f**k is in a hydro unit? You can get a low mileage complete second hand engine swapped in for that money. I think I would have involuntarily automatically punched the dealer in the face for threatening extortion of that magnitude.

O, deep joy, I've just got the same set of lights. A quick wheel spin followed by a heavy stop cleared it at first. Then came back on, then off, now on all the time. No codes are stored, so, might try the battery disconnect idea first.

Update. Disconnected the multipin connector from the hydro unit and gave the unit a few "taps" for the heck of it, despite no codes showing on my scan gauge, I did a forced code clear and the lights went off as soon as I drove away. Not holding out for them staying off more more than a couple of miles though. I have found a link to a company that will fix your hydro unit with a week turnaround for £250. http://www.ecutesting.com/catalogue/product/bmw_z4_abs_pump__ecumodule_combined_amc916203.html

The 'tapping method' worked for me temporarily but only for a couple of hundred miles. Recommend ecutesting.com. Great service at a fraction of the cost of a new unit.

Well, I'm assuming it's the hydro unit, but.... Could an abs sensor also be the problem, and where would you start to find the faulty sensor?
