YAW Sensor

Hi, I'll say right out the gate I'm a women, can't see too many of them on here but I'm sure there are a few! I have inherited a Maldivian Blue 2.2 2004 Z4, which I love a great deal. My knowledge of cars is limited but I am in the process of doing-up my father's much loved pride and joy.
I've had the YAW sensor replaced, with a good second hand one, but as I have a water ingress issue, so I'm concerned about the same issue happening again. My ex-BMW mechanic has said finding the holes is hard and expensive and sealing the sensor won't work. I have seen so many threads here re. this issue, I've struggled to follow them tbh. I hope if I ask this question, presumable for the 100th time, you'll all take pity on me with some good advice. Who do I get to protect the part if I do it, and how much would it cost? Is it something all of you have done? I'm scared to wash her for fear of the sensor getting wet! As I say, forgive a newbie the rookie questions..... Thank you in advance for your help

It's likely the drivers door thats leaking. There is a membrane behind the door card.

If you say what county you live in you may have one of the forum experts near you who can help

RBM Hampshire in Hook is your local expert that is recommended in your area on the forums. They used to be an active member on the forums but since their business has grown they are understandably less active here.

I'm sure it would worth the effort to see Ross at RMB Hampshire to get some advice as hopefully they can explain to you what you'd need to do. The membrane is around £40 for the door and would take a few hours of your time to replace it.

Unfortunately for a driveway expert you'll need to travel to Norfolk or Lincoln. I can't think of anyone else close to you buy hopefully someone will raise their hand

Thank you Usel, I appreciate the advice. I'll definitely investigate the door membrane. I also need some Maldives touch up paint and a drivers side headlight. Can anyone recommend the best place to buy them from? I was told ebay is good for the headlight as the guarantees are favourable to the buyer but are some sellers more trusted than others? Also, what should i expect to pay for it? Thanks everyone
