I have a z4 coupe and want to fit xenons to it. Do I need to get a complete unit? i.e full headlamp with all internals or can I just buy the ballast igniter and bulb and fit them to my origional headlights? All help would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks I have already read that thread but I wanted to know if it could be done using standard oem parts instead of aftermarket HID kits.

As with all things there are levels of answer.

If you're really competent and can get the bits then it's possible to retrofit the various internals into a xenon. reflector, loom, connectors, etc. Add ballast underneath (after you cut the holes, etc.) All doable but question if it's worth it Vs just picking up some lights.

Onto that you'd need to add new LCM for xenons or reprogramme the old one
Suspension sensors front and rear
in theory headlight washers too.

If you think of putting post facelift in there are other issues to overcome

Does that help or any other specific questions?
