xenon lights poor

when driving home late Friday night i realised how poor the xenons are on the z4 compared to my old 3series.has any one changed the lamps and if so what results have you seen??

If they are factory xenon, they should be fine. when i had my e85 i found that some adjustment to the height of the beam was imperative. I found that because the beam had such a solid cut off there was no additional right bleeding up the road just giving you that extra few metres.

i went to a dark road and adjusted the lights up and gave myself a few more metres. easy to do and simple to keep adjusting until happy and not blinding oncoming cars.

yea they are factory xenons not very impressed, are the lights adjusted on the light fitting it self?

yes they self level, but if the range that they are set to is poor you can't see far enough up the road to drive very quickly in pitch darkness. the self levelling will adjust them up and down relative to weight in the car from the point you set with the adjusting screw. this is located in the engine compartment and is easy to find. is the self levelling actioning when you turn on the ignition, they should operate up and down to check they work.
