Xenon headlight unit - dodgy wire (how easy to replace?)

my passenger side headlight has been knocked around a fair bit due to pot holes. I first thought bulb, didn't work, they changed the igniter, and finally the balast. none of them sorted it so I was like wtf, wiggle the wire that his the main xenon unit inside and lo and behold back on. As soon as I moved and it wiggled a bit from vibration off again. I've purchased a new wire, but I was wondering how awkward is it too do and has anyone else had this problem before I remove all the front end again :rofl:any help would be appreciated.

Alternatively anyone in Brum who's had to do it fancy doing it for me happy to pay
 
If it’s just the wire, then don’t replace the whole connector. Trace the cable to find where the break is. It may not be obvious so take your time. Cut out the bad bit and replace only that section of wire. The actual xenon is only fed by a single cable. So assuming it all works apart from the main xenon, your just after a single wire. Cutting all 8 wires and splicing in a new connector is asking for trouble!
 
What a coïncedence, I'm having trouble with my xenons as well. The left one keeps flickering and falls out now and then. While at it, I replaced it with led's as a plug n play retrofit upgrade, but that didn't solve the flickering. So, as you did, replaced the starter. Don't know what the balast is though, but i'm guessing my problem has something to do with either that, or wiring as well.

Did you find your culpit yet?
 
So on the xenon you've got the igniter, which sits at the back of the bulb, then you've got the balast that sits underneath the light unit itself.

For me id replaced bulb, balast, igniter, turns out it's a loose wire that feeds into the xenon bulb, if I wriggle it, it will come back on. I'd purchased the cable, so it's a case of unplugging it I think. as its plug and play but not 100%


Edit: Have just had a look, think I might've just got the auto levelling wire. Deffo an issue with the wiring inside the unit itself. if that's a thing. There's like a couple of thin wires inside the unit, if I move them itcomes back on.
