Hi,
Whilst out driving last week I hit a puddle at speed. Straight away the dashboard warning light came on to tell me that a bulb was out. I pulled over to check and the O/S Xenon was out.
Previously I'd changed the dipped headlight on the O/S and it looks like the seal running around the plastic bulb protector has not made a solid connection after being removed then replaced therefore letting water in.
I've had it electrically tested and the ballast has definitely gone, but my concern is that the wiring may also have corroded and be shot - meaning I could need a totally new Xenon unit.
I've found some reasonably cheap Ballast units so I could try that first, but just wondered if anyone had any experience of this?
Ideally I don't want to go down the road of buying parts and paying for labour if it's not necessary.
Any advice gratefully received.
