Xenon headlamp washer

Do these need to work for an MOT test.
My offside froze up in the winter and did not retract. I poured hot water over it and it retracted but does not spray now it comes up, bubbles from the nozzles but does not spray are they difficult to fix?

Not part of the MOT at the moment but headlamp cleaning and levelling device operation WILL be part of the MOT from Jan 2012, but only IF THEY ARE FITTED.

Headlamp cleaning and levelling devices are already required to be fitted on most HID xenon installations (the bright ones) under con & use regs but have never been an MOT item, a cop or VOSA could tug you for not having them but most people seem to get away with it. 'Technically' an aftermarket HID xenon conversion without these could invalidate insurance as the vehicle has non-compliant mods.

2012 MOT manual, section 1.7 page 1 http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/repository/MOT%20Inspection%20Manual.pdf

Will be if you have Xenons though.

No not at the moment - just as Ewazix so eloquently has put it.

Lots of changes coming in thre new test regs so worth a read particularly in relation to modifications.

Ok thanks for the MOT clarification but what about the fixing the non spraying activity of the one jet?

Quick search will I think provide some solutions....
