Xenon - don't adjust?!

Hello all!

I got the car lowered with Eibach springs last fall. After installation, I noticed that xenon headlights (original) was MUCH lower than before lowering. In fact, so low that I could not see forward.

Should the headlights "reset"? Is it for leveling sensor in the rear (this we had removed, so as not to damage / break it during installation of springs)?

I have provisionally adjusted the lights manually out of the lamp housing - but it is not optimal.

During startup, when turn ignition on, then self-adjust the also just a tiny bit up / down. This was much more earlier.

What happened?!

I think many of us have had this when having Eibachs installed. I understand there are two levelling sensors for the xenons - one is at the front and it is this one which is usually broken in the process. It's not an expensive part but tricky to fit - I had someone do it. Hope this helps but really hope it's something simpler !

I never have just heard about. Too bad!
Do you have any a part number, or place the sensor can be seen? It would be a huge help!

I live in Denmark, and Z4 is quite rare here = not many have knowledge about the car. While there is much E46 in the car ..
LUCKILY I have this great forum!

Sorry I don't have part number - it was over 3 years ago I had it but shouldn't be hard to find - think it's called the "xenon headlight levelling sensor" If you took the rear one off you will know what t looked like - a small black box with a swing arm /lever attached ?

Two possibilities: 1. One or both of your leveling sensors has been damaged and needs to be replaced. This is probably your problem as it sounds like your lights are not coming up to level at all. 2. When I installed my Eibachs I had more drop in front than the rear and when the lights came up to "level" they were still to low, but not excessively so. I had to raise (re-aim) the fronts a little higher.
