Xenon bulb - no power to unit

I've been looking around the internet but can't find anyone with the same problem...

I've got a 2004 E85 and both of the xenon bulbs won't work. The other bulbs - main beam, sidelights and indicators all work as they should.

I know a BMW specialist who said there's probably no power to the unit and I'm dropping the car off with him this weekend, but wondered if anyone had any ideas/reasons I could put forward to him?

I've got a European road trip planned for a week today as well so hope it's a simple fix!

Cheers.

well could be both bulbs have gone, or both ballasts have gone, ballasts tend to go with water in the headlights issue.

here is the wiring diagram

Sorry, should have said, I've bought new xenons and fitted them and since it's happened it's also had a totally new o/s headlight unit from BMW fitted (separate issue).

Just tried the headlight switch to no avail as well!

How are the ballasts fitted/located on zed's?

On my Golf, when you remove the ballast from the bulb there is a mechanism that ejects the 12v power supply to prevent an electric shock :o

Its not like that on the zed is it and the power supply to the ballast is disconnected? :idunno:
