Xenon ballasts

My drivers side headlight is intermittently working. It failed during heavy rain then came back to life.
I’m guessing first thing to do is get a new ballast or two while I’m at it.
Also the halo side light has failed so two of those required.
Any recommendations?
I see Xenonsonline sell an OE équivalent for £50 each
Any experience of them here?
Hope someone can shed some light!

Xenons on Line tell me there are a number of different halo sidelights possibilities for the e86!
How can I tell which ones I need without taking them out I wonder?
It’s a bumper off job to change lights and ballasts right?

Yes, bumper off is the easiest/only solution.

The halo/angel eye bulb is in a weird bulb-holder (BMW p/n 63127170858) that you have to remove and change as a complete unit (about £20 each) - or hack the old one to pieces to get a standard replacement bulb/LED to fit.

When I replaced my ballasts (BMW p/n 63126907488), I simply used the part number to search for new ones on ebay/EuroCarParts/Autodoc. The BMW is unique to BMW of course, but the ballast is they're common to many marques. Were about £40 each last time I bought them (here's an example ebay one for £30).

I'd recommend doing the lot in pairs, and maybe consider doing the xenons, indicator bulbs, and check the headlight brackets for any damage as they seem to crack/snap and cause 'bouncy' lights too whilst you've got the bumper off.

Ah great. Thanks, very helpful including the part numbers too.

I’ll look around other places for the side halo/angel eye lights.
Do you reckon that one will work with any e86 with xenon’s that have halo’s?

The ballast you linked looks like it’s probably the same generic type that Xenonsonline have listed so that’s a good saving 👍🏼
