Ok, I know having searched the threads there have been various discussions on what upgrade to get to connect ur ipod/iphone so I don't aim to cover old ground.

From research I think I will be buying the Xcarlink kit for my ipod touch and also the bluetooth kit. I think this will b easiest to install and does exactly what I need.

What I'd like to know is, does anyone have this installed? If so, how would you rate it? Only asking before I spend the best part of £150 so want to make sure I choose the best option.

I have a '53 plate, 3.0l with professional stereo (10 speakers)

Thanks guys

Hi Dunna,

I bought an XCarLink a while ago and had major problems with the install. In theory it was relatively simple but it's a bit of a pig to get the vents out. However, after everything was connected up, I tested the unit only to find that the radio system would not recognise the device. I did get it working a few times, but after the car's electrics were turned off and then back on it would lose the device again. It may have been an issue with my car itself, but I ended up returning for a refund.

I ended up opting for the intravee, and it is brilliant, and much easier to install - no vent removal necessary. Plus, the intravee gives you total control over your iPod whereas the XCarLink I believe will only let you play the first six playlists. Well worth the extra money in my opinion.
