XCarLink/Dice (mp3 cd changer emulator) etc. installation

Hello,

How to install dice/xcarlink? I found two types of xcarlink: with radio connector or with trunk unit's connector. So I do have both options and it's as simple as pinning one wire to another and I don't have to dismount center console?

My stereo is "bmw bussines cd" + gps (but as I look to the hidden menu it's called "Professional").

Regards

do you have a cd changer installed?

when installed intravee it was a case of in through boot and get the lining out then find the connectors that where taped down

No, I don't. Hmm, so where to search this connectors in the boot?

Maybe I can just connect it in the front to the radio unit and place XCarLink in glove compartment? It would prefer this solution.

yeah go in threw boot then you can have device in center console. Ive never done work at head unit side.

mines coupe, once u get that bottom carpet up, the sides push up then pull out, do both sides, then the back cover just lift up, theres enough room to work under it

OP are you in the US?

If so and I'm guessing you are then the CD changer plugs won't be there unless they were optioned.

No, from Europe - Italy

OK, still might not have CD changer leads. Were standard fir in UK, but not other countries.

Put the last 7 characters of your VIN number in here and it will list the options and standard equipment

So what kind of wiring I may have to do? Maybe I can just connect in back of the radio unit without touching cockpit and trunk?

You should be able to connect directly to the back of the headunit. Dension units used to do this. You might have to change the pins into the plugs already in the back of the head unit. You might also have to buy the plugs as they might not be there.
