x5 As a daily Drive

After a long hard think, I've sadly decided against at E92 M3 saloon as a daily drive. If i wasn't planning on keeping the Z4MC then i'd have certainly gone for the M3. We now have our eyes set on a 2008/09 X5, so looking for advice from anyone that's run these.

After a quick look on the AUC's site, there seems to be lots of different variants ranging from 3D or 35D engines right to M sport models which seem to have a more distinct presence in flash. My ideal spec is as follows 1) Media pack 2) Panoramic sunroof 3) 3rd row seats.... can work around everything else.

Has anyone owned one, and if so what advice or things to look out for? Also would be good to get views in running costs based on it being a family taxi (unpaid driver :x )...

Ran the previous gen X5 for a decade and 100,000 miles. Bombproof build, cheap in maintenance as nothing went wrong.petrol gave only 19mpg do that was the big pain.
Gear family runaround if you need space, comfort, etc.
