The X3M isn't the worst looking SUV on the market atm but the X4M is suicide inducing.

Also, 80k starting price wtf
Its funny I thought it was the other way round

Both utterly hideous, both an utterly ridiculous amount of money and two utterly stupid videos!
Neither car will ever be driven in a manner or environment as portrayed in those films. Who believes this marketing clap-trap anymore?
BMW seem to be becoming ever more childish with both their styling and advertising. It's becoming embarrassing now!

It does make you want to move away from the brand. The badge certainly isn't as appealing as it once was in the late 90's / early 2000's.

I don't see the issue with performance suv's. Not everyone wants to tear down a twisty country lane at ridiculous speeds. Some simply enjoy traffic light gp's

I must admit, most of these fast bricks are usually driven by school mums.

I quite like them 8)

I think the problem I have with them is that the marketing department could have created a different brand for these performance SUV's. If they would have kept the heritage M brand for the agile performance cars and then created an SUV performance sub-brand like XX5 or X5R would have been more appropriate in my mind.

Porsche (so far) have done well not to give into the easy £££ and create a GT5 Cayenne or Macan....that wouldn't do much for their motorsport sub-brand.

I definitely agree. ///M used to represent something that had at least 'something' to do with cars that BMW raced on the track. But, it appears that the meaning of that symbol has become more and more diluted and cheapened.

Ironically, it was BMW themselves who justified their own decision as far back as the early '90s not to make an E31 M8 because in their own words: "We no longer wish to be associated with cars like that...."

And yet, they've since gone on to do that in every shape and form with virtually every model ever since!

Not bothered about the SUVs however that S58 lump is of interest.

Looks like the new M3/M4 will be 500+ bhp.

Didnt mind the look of the x3m, i saw an x3 m40i in cornwall recently and it looked smart!

Just no idea why youd pay 80k for the M version that wont sound as good as the 40i version.

Agree I bought my E85 on the looks not fussed it was a BMW but I would not be rushing to look at any of the new range just to fussy with the styling especially some of the front bumpers  they remind me of the cheap looking body kits I used to see at car shows years ago

I dislike them and pretty much all of their equivalents from other manufacturers. I'm just not a fan of SUVs and even more so the pumped up performance versions.

A bloke at the end of my road works for BMW and currently has the X3 M40i. It looks really good in the flesh and mean in black.

I am likely to be moving to Norfolk in a year or so thus the X3 appeals as a totally uneccessary replacement for my M240i convertible :D
