Wurble Burble Drive train..

Hello All,

I've been noticing what can only be described as a "warble" or like a low pitch oscillating, almost like a distant Chinook - but underneath the car.

It is noticed in the low RPMs and low speed only - and it sounds and almost feels through the car that it is the prop-shaft wobbling.

This is coupled with the clunking that others on here have mentioned before, when selecting 1st, or pulling away at low speeds.

I would like some advice please, how could I address this issue? :headbang:

Many thanks

Won't be the prop Gengis, that would get worse the faster you go.

Flywheel loose, worn diff or the prop couplings I'd think. Needs to go up on a ramp to find out or on sturdy axle stamds, twist the prop with your hands, you should feel and hear the clunk and be able to pin point it fairly easily.

Best of luck.

Now now chaps...

Thanks for the quick replies.

I did think bearing, but it doesn't seem to get louder or even noticeable at all above say 20mph.

I do have DMF chatter if shutting down without the clutch pressed, if that could be related?

I've got Adrian from Gilberts (indy) replacing all the belts and pulleys next week, so I'll ask to check this too.

I had previously asked about the clunking, but his take was that it was probably subframe mounts, although I'm not convinced...

Clunks selecting first Enuff.

Keep up luv....
Who says that's the same fault?
Broaden your thinking darling...

Low speed only.... :poke: Do switch it on sweetness.....
John old bean, I'm feeling slightly uncomfortable now with all this chatting up.

Bearing noises don't always get louder to the human ear, due to resonant frequencies etc.
However, I agree it is not very likely to be the issue here, just throwing in other things to consider.

Just off to check the vaseline stocks.

Rear prop shaft support bearing..shite construction to start with..

Maybe GUIBO but unusual…

DMF starting to show their age too…
