mine does around 6k too (I THINK!) sometimes - maybe to do with the temperature?

well i hope its just a fluke. was kinda a werid i hope its all good! thank you mate!! :driving:

That's perfectly normal on the ///Ms - warm-up warning lights, illuminated while the engine oil comes up to temperature - it's to discourage you from ragging it while it's cold

Yes the limiter is reduced when the engine is cold to try to avoid over revs when cold.

Unfortunately its linked to the coolant temp, not the oil temp so they go out too quickly. You should really be avoiding high rpm usage until the oil is at normal operating temp, which is about 90 degrees in the UK.

Possibly you have never seen it before due to a hot climate in the US, and the coolant temp has been above the threshold to activate the limiter lights.

Basically all normal, but keep an eye on your oil temps before you start using the rev range.

As above - mine is usually at 5.5k on start up. Does it actually adjust the limiter though - I've never tried to rev that high when cold, but I'm sure I read it remains a visual warning, just like when it's at operating temp. The limiter kicks in at the red doesn't it ?

No idea actually. Never been in those regions when its cold

Mine does what has been described. I think the yellow lights start as low as 4.5k when it's really cold. It makes me wonder what the OP's car was doing previously.

I have assumed that the limiter only kicks in at the red light, but I not planning on testing this! Irrespective of what the lights are saying, mine doesn't go above 3k until it's all properly warmed up.

Just ask the owner of that Sepang M

I was about to say, try the NW during Winter, certain I saw 5k yellows up to 7.5-9 red!

thanks guys! i dont run the car hard till warm just never seen that before good to know its normal though!

thanks again :D
