WTD: Z4MR

Hi Guys,
Been trawling pistonheads/auto trader/BMW for months now in pursuit of that perfect Z4 M to replace my 3L that I got rid of about 4 months ago.

Problem is I know exactly what I want, and will dismiss anything that isn’t just right! Hence I have yet to find something that ticks ALL my boxes!

Must haves:

Roadster
Black – ideally carbon
Navigation
HI-FI prof DSP
Black leather, possibly Champaign if it looks good!
Heated seats

Distinct advantages:
Elec folding mirrors
TV (I don’t even know why I want this… something to do with being a child!?)

Price about 25k not too bothered on mileage as they all tend to be quite low.

If anyone stumbles across something matching this description can you please let me know!?

You'll be extremely lucky to find one with TV I've only ever seen a couple of roadsters, although as of 2011 it'll be useless anyway. Folding mirrors - a bit more chance of finding these. Carbon black - I've seen quite a few Z4MC in carbon black and not many roadsters.

Will keep an eye out though :thumbsup:
 
There was one I saw on BMW AUC that matched that spec excpet the heated seats which I found really strange. I wouldnt consider on without heated seats.

I would have assumed they would fit DVB in a 2006 car!? Thats rubbish then!
 
I think any TV modules fitted to Z4M's will have been the dual digital/analogue ones which will continue working after the digital switchover. That was certainly the case with the M3 after September 2004 which uses the same equipment as the Z4 I believe.
 
Try Murketts of Huntingdon - I know they have a Z4M roadster in black for £24k ish but not sure of full spec.

Had a look - ta. Not sure on the red interior, doesnt have the DSP either! I'm so damn fussy... mind you I think Ican afford to be the way things are on the used market at the moment!

yep they have.. I'm going to retrofit. Not sure when they flicked over but the Z4Ms were from 06, they were all digital by then.
 
Try dick lovett in bristol black on black. Price reduced from 20949 to 19949. I went there 3 weeks ago and bought the black with red- with all extras incl DSP. Great car.

I never used to be that keen on Carbon Black, back when it was on the E46 M3, but I've recently started to warm to it. It's probably because I've only recently looked closely and noticed that it looks different to other blacks. Think I'd need a coloured interior in conjunction with it though, but each to their own. :thumbsup:

Speaking of E46-related M colour combos; has anyone seen / does anyone have a Z4M in Imola Red with Imola Red leather (half or full)? I used to like the combination on the Z3MC, and loved it on the E46 M3. I've not seen it on a Z4M, and from the photos I've seen of the colours in isolation, they don't seem to be as good a match as they used to be.

Yes I have and it looks nice, I can't remember who had it though, I had a quick look for some pics but can't find it anywhere.
 
not sure id want it, i have black leather and wish id got the champagne.. i had a wonderful Alfa Spider mk2 with Rosso Red / Tan leather.. on appearances only was the most stunning car in the flesh - that colour combo just suits sports cars.
 
I'm a big fan of the red paint and cream leather combination on other cars (Porsche, Ferrari), and it certainly looks good on the Z4, but I'm not sure it goes with the M Car ethos. It feels a bit opulent and luxurious to me, like the car's just a range topper with all the toys (a la AMG), whereas I see M Cars as clinical, focused driving machines.

That's one of the reasons I love Alpina; black leather with green and purple stitching would seem very out-dated anywhere else, but in an Alpina it's special because of the heritage and the fact that it's an intrinsic part of such a special car.

Agreed. I have got the champagne extended leather in mine. One of the main things that sold the car to me to be honest!
