Thanks. I was bidding on that very item up to about £45, but would rather have a new one for the price its got to now!
 
I recommend looking out for a titanium coated version. The standard stainless versions can mark very easily, for instance from rings (my wife's Z4 gear knob got into a terribly scuffed state from her eternity ring). In contrast the ti-coated version in her 1 series survived more than 3 years without getting a single mark. I sold that pair of of gear and handbrake knobs on the 1 series forum for £85. That also included the ti-coated handbrake button.
 
Worth knowing so thanks for that. Sadly I think a secondhand ti plated v1 is likely to be rarer than rocking horse doo doo so I might have to save up for a new one...
 
I am surprised that none have surfaced, even in the standard stainless steel. Even if you can 'only' get the StSt versions I am pretty certain Bilal will Ti-coat them for you, if you wish. I did this with one set I had.

Worth persevering for.
