Just looking for one, visual condition not important.

As long as it's straight and hasn't had some dodgy refurb where the split nuts are stuck in place!

LOL, I can see why you'd think that, but no story honest.

It's come to the time where I can afford to refurb the wheels on my car, I've managed to get a weekend spot somewhere very good and local, but one of my rear wheels has two snapped bolts in it.

Well OK I kind of guess that's a story.

I see Sopers have got one on EBAY Why not give them a ring and make an offer or just bid on it.

Thanks for that but I'm looking for a shagged one that could do with painting.

You can always drill the snapped bolts out or if the heads are off once the star is our use an extractor on the stud. Bolts are obtainable.

Might be cheaper.

I did think this, thing is, with the bolts being hard, and wheel being soft, without a properly mounted drill it's near impossible isn't it?

I'm heading down there tomorrow so he can take a look. I have an idea but I'm not sure if it's a good one...

Remove star, removed two snapped bolts, take a good bolt out of the other rear wheel and just run one missing in each until I get the new bolts off of eBay?

I found local to me on ebay, knowing my luck there's no way he'll see my message tonight.

:(

If just the head sheard off then once you remove the star it will reveal about 1cm of stud. That can be easily extracted. If the bolt is spinning or sheared off deeper then it's a specialist job.

Remember also that rims off ebay can be buckled so unless just for bolts then be warned.

What's the easiest way to remove this stud sticking out??? I never take "easily" as actual easily.

saw this on the advert

NOT a Ronal manufactured wheel, the Ronal has "15" embossed in the face and the BBS has "8" the PCD holes

made me rush out and check mine 8's all round phew...

Where abouts is this on the wheel? any pics?

its on the face of the star

you can see it near the hub.. follow a line from where the airvalve should be straight up in between the two wheel nuts and above the hole...... if that makes sense

i dont know about the other but mine is defo, i am assuming that its aftermarket if it does not have the 8

take the rest of the bolts out, i have a spline bit that fits a 10mm socket you can borrow if you need it, and if possible, perhaps hacksaw a groove into the snapped bolts so you can uncrew it with a screwdriver.

Well...

I got all the stars off, and have ended up with one rear wheel in bad shape.

BMW/BBS seriously need to re-think the consturction of their wheels, steel bolts in to ali? Surely this is something we learn in secondary school is not a good idea.

I have tried EVERYTHING to get the studs out of the wheel, sawing a groove, banging a 6mm socket on, welding a nut to the top.... no joy.

I still need this centre, and I refuse to pay some idiot on ebay £100+ for a totally shagged one. There's a brand new one for £110 but I really don't need it!

So, i still really need a rear wheel, or even just the drum as my star is perfect.
