WTB Z4 Coupe 3.0si Sport

Hi all,

I've been mulling around this forum for quite a while now waiting for things to work out personally to be able to buy a zed and it's now reached the point where i'm ready to start my search. My existing car is being taken over by my brother from September so looking to replace mine ready for then. That leaves quite a bit of time so definitely will wait for the right car. Heres a quick run down of what I'm looking for in an ideal world:

- Z4 Coupe 3.0si Sport
- Manual
- <80k miles
- Monaco Blue or Ruby Black
- Champagne Nappa or Amarone Leather
- Piano black dash

Ultimately i know i won't get all of those things but the deal breakers are probably for it to be a Sport model (or a car equipped with sport seats), no full beige interiors and a more interesting exterior colour rather than just black or silver.

My budget is going to probably max out at around 9-10k which i know is tight but there seem to have been some cars that fit the bill for that kind of price in the past. This might have been due to being sold in winter when the prices go down a bit though. As i said i'm willing to compromise but in no rush to find the right car, in fact i'd rather it took me some time to find the right one so if you're thinking of selling in 3 months time etc, i would be interested, just thought it good to put feelers out now.

Oh and I haven't entirely discounted a roadster, it all depends whats for sale. I did see a lovely early one with the full BMW aero bodykit and hardtop at an amazing price a while back on here but wasn't in the position to buy. That kind of car would definitely sway my decision!

Good choice on the Coupe by the way!

I sold my Ruby Black one with 62K miles last year around the top of your budget.

It's a long story, but having realised what I had done I set off to find a replacement and found a Montego Blue one with 78K miles!

Happy hunting, with that budget you should find plenty to choose from. Good call going for the 'sport' or an SE with M-Sports seats

Bradley, I would definitely be interested in that. Nice to know you've managed the upgrade like you wanted to!

Marlon, yep I think it's a must when you're looking at a sports car like this, there's no point going for a base spec model too in my opinion.

Still, I'm enjoying it's replacement!

You are lucky in having time to track down what you really want (and the patience to wait - unlike me)!

You may have to wait a while to avoid black and shades of silver as most of them fall in that category. :lol:

BTW I agree entirely with you and Marlon on the seats - what were BMW thinking when they put the SE seats in a Z4?

But if you find one with them that you like in every other way, there are other options potentially less costly than Z4 Sport seats, like E46 Sport, E46 M3 or Mazda RX-8 seats.

Should you have any interest my Z4 will very likely be for sale in the coming weeks as I am considering a change.

78k, fastidiously cared for and has its inspection 2 in the last 1500 miles. SI Sport Spec with M-Sport seating. MOT until the end of the year and loads of paperwork/receipts/Full BMW Dealer and specialist service history.

Not the colour you are looking for but a wonderful interior combination of black leather with silverstone inserts, piano black trim but with the black leather dashboard, again with silverstone trim. It's a lovely place to be.

Anyway - thought it worth mentioning. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thanks for commenting. Whilst it's a nice car and a good price considering mileage etc, I think I'll keep looking for the right car. Not too keen on the dual colour seats but I do like the dashboard!

Found an interesting ruby metallic one on auto trader at what seems like a ridiculously good price. Any opinion?

Quite right that you should get the car you want BarnyG.

Difficult to give 'real' advice on any car other than simply saying it is is close enough to you get over and take a look!

Yes i do need to go and see it really. Unfortunately it is in Birmingham, and i'm in Surrey so not so much a quick look to see it!

Thanks Mr Tidy, yes i have been in contact with Simon about that car. It's not far from me so highly likely i'll go to check it out, seems in great condition, highly spec'd and lower end mileage wise.
