Wrapping a Coupe

OK, I've got a silver Z4 coupe with red leather and grey 108's, but I'm thinking of wrapping the car to achieve a different look.

What are peoples experience of wrapping?
How much would it cost?
Any recommendations for the Leeds or Yorkshire area?
Any effects on future car resale price?

I'm thinking of going for white and having my 108s done in black, or a matt black finish and leaving the 108s in grey....

Nah, leave it.

Just wrap the roof.

From a few previous posts on the subject, the finish can vary. If the finish wasnt exactly like paint, I wouldnt be happy with it....

There was a coupe done in white, sepang bronze underneath, it looked good

Go full hog and get it patterned. Sort of red/grey pattern... like burberry, or paisley.........

Seriously though, like a solid colour on a coupe, white would look very nice...

1. Mine (White/Sepang) was fine, but the stuff is a real pain to keep clean. It doesn't jetwash well, and really needs a bucket and sponge.

2. About £1200.

3. Totally Dynamic.

4. Depends. If you take some excellent quality photos the day before it's wrapped, you shouldn't have a problem. However, people will always want money off because "they have no idea on the condition of the paint" Almost everyone that came to view mine said the same thing, so in the end I removed it.

wrapping a car with never be perfect! A mate of mine took his Focus ST to somewhere in leeds to have his roof wrapped in satin black by profesionals and it had a few bubbles in here and there.

As for the cost, your looking at over a grand for a full car by someone cheap and up to nearly 2 grand for someone who will do a realy good job! Alot of money to me!

Id maybe just wrap your roof or somethings like that to make it a little more individual

I kind of like the idea of matt black, carbon effect or the equivalent of "frozen grey". However, I've seen some wraps where you can still see the original colour in the shutlines, so if I had a silver car I'd be OK to go to frozen grey, but not black or white.

On a coupe wrapping the roof would be a good first step. So if you liked the roof in cf effect black or dark grey for example then decided to wrap the rest of the car later in white you could leave the roof.

I've had mirrors and front and rear rails wrapped for a few years now. Paint was fine underneath when I had them redone last month.

If you go matt black then cleaning becomes an issue - I believe there's only one shampoo / wax on the market that's suitable for matt vinyl. I personally think the white option could look fantastic, and if done well the finish should be flawless.

Another option, just buy a few tins of Plastidip!

Thanks for all the info and responses. Based on the what I've read I'll probably not bother with this and may start looking for a different colour E89 Z4 or E90 M3 to play with....
