I've never been overly thrilled by my Zed's handling since I bought it. I went down the usual path. Ditched the run flats, new bushings, 4 wheel alignment from FCD in Bristol (great job)... but it still ain't no Boxster!
Then, as I pulled out of the drive last week, the tyre pressure and brake warning lights came on and the car was pulling very strongly to the left. I tiptoed into the stealers in Dorchester for advice and they said I would have to leave it and pay £106/hr for a diagnosis.
However, they said that normally I would have to book 2 weeks ahead but seeing as I was there they'd squeeze it in and give me a loaner. I needed to get to work, so they kind of had me over a barrel anyway. That afternoon they called to say that it wasn't obvious what the problem was but wanted to try reprogramming the steering sensor - would I authorise? Next morning, they called to say it was fixed
The bill, including 2 days insurance on the loaner (335d X-Drive M Sport) was £96. Was I happy... On top of that, the car is handling better than it ever was, and this is reason for my post. If you've tried everything to sort your handling and are still not satisfied, try reprogramming your steering sensor.
And a thumbs up to Westerly BMW in Dorchester.
