Finally got some decent weather to drop the top and quess what - NO start. Started and ran fine Tuesday, had some new grills put in Wednesday and presto no start Thursday :x Get all the lights but no turnover. I managed to get in in neutral (lazy man I know) and she started. Turned it off and returned to park but still no start. Also no start in neutral now. Don't beleive anything to do with new grills as I called the guy that fitted them (works for BMW). Maybe the roof was they only thing was lowered this morning but other than that nothing has changed. Any ideas from the Gurus?

Cheers

My wild guess is there's some sort of safety switch to prevent starting in gear that's gone bad or fallen out of alignment. The grille change cannot have anything to do with this.

Also, anytime there is odd electrical behaviour, one has to ask, are you sure your battery isn't weakened? No matter how far fetched, it has often been the cause.

If its an auto, as implied, then it only starts in neutral or park, so I'd be suspecting the gearbox sensor....?

Cheers for the inputs. Fortunately or unfortunately we'll find out if it is covered under a 3rd party warranty so I have local garage picking it up today. They seem to think it could also be gearbox switch - funny had same problem with my 300ZX as also auto. Hopefully sorted today as supposed to be a wicked weekend weather wise

Thanks again
