As said above most black deaths are black on black crime.

But do you understand why that is? Again this is one of the fundamental points of BLM, the cycle of a poor education, low paid work, poverty and crime as the easiest way out of the ghetto

I do feel is this country we are too scared to call it as it is, all because we fear being labelled racist. My oldest mate is Met Police for 18 years and he sees the crime as it actually is. The stabbings, the muggings, the shootings are almost always (90%) done by young black youths......yet, we as a society seem to side against the police if they stop and search young black youths. That's insanity. They're not stopping old black women or even older black men, so throw that police racism card in the bin.

We are always looking for an excuse for it and there isn't one. A large part of the reason is the lack of discipline instilled by not having a strong family. They idolise their older criminal peers on the street and all feel they deserve the Louis Vuitton, Range Rover and Rolex, but not prepared to do the hard work to actually earn it. In this country, there is nothing a young black person can't do that a White or Asian can.

Only in the black community do they hold up a scum bag like George Floyd as some form of Saint. If it was an Asian, Jew, Middle East or European scum bag who held a gun to a pregnant woman whilst he robbed her then they would have been cast out by society and said good riddance.

I voted no, because I thought we were talking about Bacon Lettuce and Maltbread sandwiches.
I abhor cruelty to animals and the mass production of bacon and all porcine meat products is inherently cruel to pigs.

But seriously, fk BLM in its' left ear afaiac. It just seems to be a lot of noise and screaming and black celebrities jumping on the most questionable bandwagon since flares and disco music, and seems to be devoid of any substance or soundly-defined objectives.
I don't disagree that racism exists but don't discount other demographics where inequality exists in favour of one specific demographic. That, in itself I would suggest is racist and underlines the hypocricy and questionable objectives of the so-called BLM movement.

All lives matter!
Particularly those of the little piggies!

No.

What I really dislike about the football players is how all of them and the officials seem to be expected to do it, rather than have any choice.

I did like seeing some of the F1 drivers not doing it last season!

I was under the impression BLM was a message initiated and focused on highlighting a few hundred years of persecution that still exists in various forms today. Saying all lives matter kind of dismisses that message and the issues raised.

I think the destruction & rioting dismisses the message and issues a lot more than saying all lives matter does.

blm has nothing to do with sport or politics or anything to do with this country and everything to do with american racism and a bad copper - everything else is jumping on a bandwagon and appealing to little people wanting to be bigger. Hamilton being a case in point - what a prick..

Can I just say - am I alone in just hating the expression “taking a knee”!?? It’s an Americanism and why are we repeating it???

Got that off my chest - the phrase really grates!!!!

I would not (do the above) simply because it is expected of me to do it - I won’t do it just because it’s expected, so no - won’t do it. There was a genuine sentiment at the time I guess but now it’s just a band wagon isn’t it?.

I thought that when the premier league restarted I thought the first time they did it, it was a fairly powerful statement of supprt for racial harmony, but doing it every single game seems pointless. Whether you do it or not should be personal choice in the same way as poppy wearing personally I always wear one but if someone else doesn’t that’s their choice.

The aims of the organisation are regularly glossed over by MSM with a lot of the stains and blotches just conveniently left out, for example if you look a the BBC article about their aims the disruption of the nuclear family is unsurprisingly missing.

So the origins of this thread is once again a loaded question?

In what way?
I'm not playing. I came to this forum for car chat and advice, so its really my own fault for adding commentary elsewhere. I'm out.

Personally YES Only for the Queen.
I am not a racist, I believe in equal opportunities but as a political statement of the BLM group NO.

Does this gesture always have to be conflated with the BLM movement? The PFA, for example, say its not associated with a political statement. It seems to me that linking it to far left/extremist ideologies is a way of distracting from what remains a serious issue for society. That's not to say that certain groups don't try and hi-jack these public acts of protest to get traction for their agendas - of course they do. Equally true of far right groups.

I really struggle to understand why people allow themselves to get so worked up about this. The players have chosen to do it to signal their support for an anti racist sentiment. Its primarily an act of solidarity with team mates and other sportsmen who may have suffered from racist behaviour. I can't say what impact it has except that it does perhaps keep the attempt to drive out racism from sport (and perhaps more widely) at the forefront. Even if I did not have a particularly strong sympathy with anti racist gestures like this I'd probably be willing to voluntarily do it to show solidarity with my team mates and my abhorrence at how some have been treated. AFAIK they are under no compulsion to do so although I suppose there is some peer pressure at play here? Interestingly the PFA conducted a survey of over 800 of their members on this and found support was over 80%.

At the end of the day the gesture probably means different things to different people but it does no harm does it?
