Would you buy it?

For £250 why not, great for taking stuff down the tip
That was my first thought, Sean. I have had an estate car in the household for at least 20 years until a month ago. They are very useful machines.

My designer of choice is George. Occasionally Tu, depending on their season's offerings.

Yep - I would do the same, we are using a £36k car to run back and fore the skip and it is not great after a few runs full of crap

I’d buy that and use it for every sh!tty job possible to save wear and tear on any of the other vehicles. The minute anything goes wrong you could take the wheels and battery out it, sell the rest for scrap and still in profit.

No brainier as far as I’m concerned, if it was me it’d be on my drive already

Jeez man! That's taking ambulance chasing to a new level!
I know but it isn't any use to her now is it? I will have to wait for probate, as it can't be sold yet. I am also looking to buy her house but that may be a little more expensive. :D
I was just amazed how cheap these cars are. I know they ain't exactly desirable but it's an old Astra underneath (I think) so should be OK.

when my mum passed away her car counted as personal chattel, and therefore could be sold or disposed of without waiting for probate. as it was, i gifted it to a family friend almost immediately. the value of the car was included in the probate calculation, but the car was long since gone when probate was eventually granted (which was ~15 months after my mum passed away).

You'll certainly have to wait until probate before you can legally be sold the house.

I would make a great used car salesman. I wouldn't make any money, though, as I wouldn't sell a car that I would not be happy with myself and those are very few and far between. :(
