Would this work?

Hello!

With the immanent hosepipe ban, i've been doing some googling for hand powered pressure washer and came across this.

Do you think this would work? I'd only really want to use it to foam the car......

what do you think?

Was thinking about this just this morning, as I am about to have lunch and then use my hosepipe for the last time this year I reckon

A clean bucket of water or 10 should work for most of the bodywork, but it's the wheels and the roof I have been thinking about. I think one of these will work fine for those, but will it have enough pressure for creating foam ?

Where did you see this, and how much is it - if you don't mind sharing :D

Found it on amazon here

Not bad for £16.50 delivered.

hmm......i might just buy one for the sake of it....hopefully it should be enough pressure to make foam.....

Brilliant - thanks majeric, just pushed the button on this

Now off to love my hose for the last time :D

Bet you still get a 'nosey neighbour' accusing of breaking the ban...

Couple years ago someone had a go at me for throwing buckets of water over my car...despite the fact I was clearly filling them from my water barrel! :headbang:

Possibly, but they will be swiftly corrected

Most of my neighbours are ok TBH, AND know how much I love my car - they'll be too busy laughing at me frantically pumping this thing and re-filling it :D

For now you're allowed to fill buckets and watering cans from the tap as far as I know :?

I will probably reuse my builders bucket raised slightly and with a small length of hose connected to my old Karcher.

Worked well last time we had a ban

Wilkos do a similar thing - but it's out of stock atm.

Never had a hose, and always used a watering can for rinsing off. This might just make life a little easier...

There was some mention on the news this morning that businesses are exempt. so do what i do and take it to work and use their hose to wash it. very useful when you live in a flat and are on a water meter. :)

the other peculiar thing is that we are supplied by a small water company - Cambridge water who doesn't have a ban. it seems there's only about two houses supplied by them. It's like we are a small enclave surrounded by anglia water so im smugly looking forward to getting works hose out.

I can sense a Cambridgeshire meet turning up on your drive :)
