would these fit a z4?

I've been looking at replacing my 108's with a style that's less "gappy" and I'm very tempted with the set of csl style wheels that a user is selling here, however If possible i would like to stick to 18".

I've found these : http://www.cmwheels.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=725 and similar on ebay however when it asks what model car i have it says that it wont fit a z4, is there any reason to this like different stud pattern? I am not too sure what makes a wheel compatible and not compatible.

the second bit of insight i would like is what are peoples opinions of the handling of 18" vs 19" i know that technically i will have slower acceleration with 19's due to the larger circumference and thus slightly alters the final ratio, what are peoples opinions, maybe use the 19's as everyday nice wheels and use the 18" 108s as a track day wheel?

finally Im sorry if this has been discussed before however my ability to find a related topic has been hindered by running out of possible phrases that would come up with sense in the search bar.

cheers for any input :)

Those wheels will fit a Z4 - no problem at all. They are 5x120 and if they fit the 3-series as stated bore will be 72.6 just like the Z4. ET40 on 8 and 9" wide wheels will look fine. I have ET37F and ET33R on 8+9" wide 18" wheels and they are flush.

The speed/acceleration will depend on the sidewall height on the rim as well - don't forget 19s will generally have lower sidewall tyres on than the equivalent 18.

Right im getting somewhere, after looking at the offset calculator site and using the rears as an example.

after looking at the clearance from the edge of the rim to the outside edge of my rear arch, I recon I have 18mm (using vernier callipers) and on the inside to the spring I recon I have something like just under 10mm. (currently running 18" 8.5j)

would you guys recommend maybe skimming the back of the et40 19" by 3mm ish to stop it looking too cartoonish at the back (I know iv seen it suggested before but cant find the thread, nehows it wasn't elaborated on as to whether of not it was a good idea)

Cheers for the inputs so far guys

In general the larger the rim even when combined with a tyre to get identical rolling radius the greater the mass away form the centre of rotation. This will have an adverse effect on performance as has been reported by drivers who've gone to the larger rims on the lower engine models.

Most drivers don't care about this and are more concerned with looks than comfort or performance, but if concerned about this one needs to know the weight of the replacement rim as a start point

I was looking at j9 but the set im tentatively looking to purchase are 9.5 at the rear, sorry for adding to the confusion :?

im not sure about the tyres yet, think that's a way off as I need to wear the ones is have down first, then I will get road tyres for the 19" and then track tyres for the 108's

I think I'll have to research the tyres... I think ive bookmarked a few discussions about the best tyres so will have a look :)

Cheers for the help so far guys.
