Would the E9* brakes fit?.

So I'm looking at various maintanence options for the MC and happened to notice that when I searched eBay for BMW M* brakes, quite a lot of the E9* M3 set ups were available.

The question is, would they (discs) fit on their own, would I need the callipers as well, or is thre just too much work involved in using this alternative set up?

Not sure about the e9x series but a friend has just installed the bmw performance 6 pot calipers on the front of his z4mc which are essentially re-badged brembos. A chap on the cutters forum sold them too him and they did require a custom bracket which again one of the chaps on cutters is fabricating. See here for more info:

Thanks.

I was more interested in the discs as I reckon ill be due some new ones in the not to distant future. I can't see that the standard E9* callipers offer any real improvement over whats already on there although im happy to be told I'm wrong.

Those performance callipers are v nice though.

They are very similar to the discs you should already have fitted only slightly bigger. I don't think you'd notice any real difference.

I don't think they'd actually fit. Oh sure you might be able to bolt them on but i don't think you'd be able to use the stock Z4M calliper. You'd probably need new calliper carriers as well. You could have some custom made but it's not really worth the effort.

I now believe they are indeed bigger. Never mind, was just hoping that I had found a cost effective solution - there appear to be loads of sets available.
