Would anyone get a CAT D?

I've seen one on Autotrader - 3.0i, huge spec list and about £2k cheaper than anything else on my shortlist.

I've spoken to the dealer and he tells me that it was just a bumper replacement and the car's been inspected and is in excellent (his word) condition.

Does anyone have a good experience of buying a CAT D, or should I just walk away on the basis that things that look too good to be true usually are?

If the damage had been confirmed by the insurance company, had been repaired by a main dealer, 30%+ cheaper than a non CAT and i wasnt planning to sell it until its on its last legs, then yes
 
Don't - the dealer has no idea what happened to it, I've had 2 different stories by phoning on different phones!

The mileage is also a lie it's actually at 59k, and out of the 11 cars I drove before buying mine this one stopped the worst of all of them.

They also won't take less than £7.5k making it unworthy for a cat D. £5.5-6K maybe.

There's another grey one in Leeds with FAR more miles than actually feels better despite worn bushings on the drivers side.

Thanks, consider this one scratched from the shortlist.

I disagree, I just bought my car for £5000 less than I watched a dealer sell an older lesser model with poorer spec but fewer miles.

Full (varified) BMW service history, HPI Clear, IMMACULATE bodywork, this was a car that's been looked after. A cars bodywork can tell you a lot about a car.
 
Cat D - I wouldn't personally unless we're talking about very low value cars, which the Z4 isn't.

(not a stalker BTW, I'm just into my MTBing too in a big way and been on STW for years)
