Would an X3 steering wheel fit my e85?

I've been looking online but can see nothing definitve so thought i would ask the experts of the forum.
Basically i have the wheel in the pic below in our f25 x3 and really like it so i was wondering if it is possible to fit this model/shape wheel to my e85? It's not something i would be looking to do any time soon but would be great to know either way. My current se wheel in the zed does not have the multi function buttons

i doubt it will function, and highly possible that you get an airbag warning sign.
wheels from the same era (e46, e39, e53) will likely fit, for the e46 series steering wheel is that for sure as long as you have the facelift steering wheel with 2-stage airbag.

It will function. The adaptor above has coding in it to get FXX type steering and air bags to talk to EXX type Airbag ECU's and part of that is to ensure the airbag light doesn't come on. It also has the functionality to translate the MF steering wheel outputs so they work as they should do.

Just like the iDrive adaptors on the same site will get an iDrive screen to show the heated seats coming on if you use the OE buttons to turn them on... and climate control responses... and oil temp... and sat nav... and temperature sensor output on engine overheating...and and and....

That's the entire point of the system an the adaptors I linked to.

Like i said, it CAN be done. Its just a bitch to do.

The only thing I would need a lot more info on is the adapter - I wouldn't want it just supressing the errors, it would need to work if required. Would be a very interesting project.

No doubt the f series m sport wheel is a nice wheel. My wife has one in her car , but I can honestly say the rim feels pretty much the same size/thickness and feel of the e85 m sport one. As they both cost roughly the same why not keep things simple and stick with the e85 jobbie, unless of course you were going the whole I drive route but Im not sure it looks good at all in an e85/6
