Would a cheap Z3 make a good first project?

Smartbear - your Z3 looks lovely and I especially like that interior

I have just test driven the one I had in mind. Slight rust at the rear of the front arches but apart from that cosmetically it's sweet.

I do however have concerns over the way the steering feels. It feels very loose and unpredictable. For example when turning it would be heavy then suddenly go light, then heavy etc....any ideas? It also pulls to the left but that could just be tyre pressures or tracking I assume.

I am tempted by it but being so unsure on the steering issue I don't want it to become a major problem.

Cheers!

Stick a low offer in & take a punt £1500ish ? Or put the reg into WBAC & offer them £100 more than they do  as the seller has probably already tried it

Saabs suffered from this problem - they called it morning sickness!
The cure, a new steering rack!

Theres plenty of Zeds about so I would give it a miss to be honest.

Rolled mine out after 7 months yesterday and the battery failed today :headbang:

Nice man from the RAC said its lasted well after 13 years :|

I thought it was the E36 they shared parts with.

Sorry yes E36 3 series

Tim.

The earlier majority of Z3s are based on E36, but I thought the later facelifts were E46? Or is that just the ///Ms?
