Worth travelling for . . . .

How's this for a new string . . . .

This is just our favourite short trip out in the Zed - to the Wentworth Café on the Hexham Car Park for a superb breakfast for me and what Steph says is the very best cappuccino to be had hereabouts. The breakfast is cooked to perfection with fabulous locally sourced ingredients. We always sit outside and watch the cars, motorcycles and people come and go - simple pleasures. (Using our back lanes a 40 mile round trip can easily be doubled on brilliant roads).

Hhhmmm , mrs w likes the look of that & would like the postcode to see how far from us ?

Ha - not certain I would travel quite that far - the location is the edge of and overlooking, a massive car park :o wouldn't suit everyone and certainly not a location of great beauty but I love watching the cars and bikes come and go.

It's actually a lot nicer than it looks here (honestly  )

It's where we used to stop when we had our various motorcycles and were out with others. The breakfast and coffee however are excellent, cakes are good, other dishes average. (NE46 1XB - there must be other coffee and all day breakfasts worth having near you? Can suggest some great approach roads however, if needed  )

A car pic would confirm it lol

It's where we took all our Where's Zed photos Taz - see those posts. They've made the car park free and it's always packed Mon to Sat now (Sunday's ok). We have a permit (available from the sports centre there for £1 and allows you to park in red zones for 2 hours) and now park in our preferred safe spots which are out of sight of the café :(

Looks a mighty fine Brekkie Paul.

To be honest Jim this is their large (the 'full monty') and is more than I normally get - they have a small and a 'full' which Is what I thought I'd ordered - no argument though as I love it

Your cup definitely overfloweth!

Yes - we sit outside at the front and that's down some stairs so I think it got a bit spilt :D

Totally spoiled by baked beans and coffee. Disgusting items imo :)

'Geetcha - ye traitor ye' I'll accept your comments on coffee (that's my pot of tea in the photo) but BAKED BEANS :o :o I grew up on baked beans . . . . come to think of it, full of hot air and :P . . . . .explains a lot

A fry up like that is good! Really good. Then the one the next day is not quite the same etc. By the end of the week Ive often regressed into cornflakes and toast :D

 Nae Tattie scones though! (Scottish flat bread made with flour and potatoes)
Looks the business. Will have to try that cafe out Paul!
