what'd reckon? Worth a go? Doable?

Brother had this on his previous 5 series, being an ex fighter pilot he couldn't resist ticking the box on the spec sheet. However, he had a new 535i petrol beauty last year, brand new to his spec but didn't bother with the heads up on this one. This must tell you something - apart from he's tight!

Might be an epic to fit toooooo.... Please Ignore this as corrected by those in the know as below

Saw a while back - want. So much better than all the crappy universal ones.

Guess this won't work on E85/6 due to the bus differences? Same with the E89? sk93 seems like the man who would know.

Too rice? . But seriously, even if it does work with the E85/86 canbus, where could you mount it that wouldn't look hideous, and you'd never leave your E85 with the roof down again unless you want someone helping themselves while you're away...
On the up side, if you have satnav installed I guess you wouldn't need your phone tethered to the screen via wifi (which means having your phone connected to a charger while driving unless you want it to run flat), but you'd miss half the point of having it as the satnav function on the screen looks quite good. Free Garmin map updates once a year, too.
When they bring these out projecting onto the windscreen, without a bolt-on box on the dash, I'd have another look.

I noticed one of these Bluetooth obd readers for the phone app had a HUD mode?
Wonder if the phone could be placed on the dash board so as to reflect on the windshield.
Probably not much good daytime.
