Worst thing about going back to work after being on holiday...

First day back to a flooded works car park which was dry this morning at 6.45am and quickly flooded over and the utter bas#@$d who parked their plastic Smart thing next to my Z3 leaving me a 6" gap if that to get into the car, so now enjoying a twisted back and hip.



Could be worse.

Back to work on Wednesday having been in Barbados for Christmas and the New Year. Really looking forward to the temperature not being 30c, getting up at 06:00 and commuting 2 hours each way. :cry:
 
The thought of it is always worse than the reality, for me at least.

Felt good to get all my meetings for this month pencilled in and get back up to speed with things.
 
Back to work to find our emails have been plagued with spam and clogged with over 75,000 emails!!!!!
 
Back at work today. Quite day, decent wages. Early finish tomorrow and off Surfing. What ya all bitchin about. :lol:
 
Almost forgot accident on the A38, on my route home. Took 30 mins to get home. I sussed there was a problem early and found a rat run or that could have been 90mins. That was about the worst bit. :wink:
 
quite glad to get back, gets me away from the relentless packing.
just chemical weapons convention returns and drug licenses to occupy my mind.

My pet hate was the commute :cry: Spent 3 years commuting daily from IOW to Winchester :(

Worked in Central London for 4 years whilst still living on IOW - used to lodge at Streatham and Twickenham during the week - home weekends :cry:
 
After a 2 months of not working, I'm ready for a holiday...
Actually been doing test pieces for potential work for over a month now, which kind of cramped on the normal holiday period, I'm happy to have that mostly out of the way now. Hopefully some form of employment will follow now everyone else is back working :p
 
I was back today. Other half coughing into the small hours, took a right fit of it just as i could feel myself dropping off. Then boom 4am and neighbours decided they are having a party until about 6 and by then I'm wide awake so I've had no sleep since I woke up at 9:30 on Sunday morning. Still going though :thumbsup:

9 and a half hour day at work, two folk didn't turn in........the same two who were told no they couldn't have the holiday and as I've been off go in to find it's like a bombs gone off. Mailbox is a whole 5gb over my allocation, Work coming out of everywhere, not the way it was left before Xmas and I've got a day of back to back meetings tomorrow, Thursday and Friday..........oh and I need to pull together information for a new system build, review what's currently going through and ensure all our FCA regulated documents are up to date.

This week is going to be a disaster! But I already knew that from the last day.

At least my new trainers turned up........so that's always a positive.
 
I retired just before a Christmas holiday a few years ago and have to admit to feeling a twinge of a guilt at this time - a bit like taking a day or two off with no good reason !

It's gone away now.
 
Well, work (at my main client) hasn't been any worse than the normal 10 hour day.

However, two clients who asked me if I could 'do a few hours' over the holiday period, and then failed to send me anything, have now both asked for about 10 hours each this weekend :thumbsdown:

I haven't replied to their emails yet though :oops:
 
I turned into work this morning, first day since 17 December! Did 6 hours, home by 4 pm.

I retired 4 years ago but do a nominal 1 day per week consultancy, adds a bit of variety to life.
