Worst fake ///M you've ever seen...

What's the worst one you've ever seen, not counting lawn mowers or fridges..?

I saw a ///M zipping along in front of me on the weekend. It had a huge ///M badge on the back, one double exhaust pipe on the left hand side, no gills and 4 doors. It was supposed to be an M3, I'm not sure what it started out as, maybe a a 2000'ish BMW sedan, looked big enough to be an old 5 series.

You think that's bad? Saw a Zed the other day - 2.5 with quad exhausts, M front and rear bumper, carbon roundels, M style wheels AND a STUBBY, whatever next...! But each to his own I suppose.

AND look at this link...... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18459 there's no hope!

There was a silver 2.0 litre near to where I worked that had a 'fake' M power badge onit, not even the real deal :) Someone eventually snapped it off - not me I hasten to add.

Me probably! That sounds an awful lot like my car! Although it doesn't have an M badge and the quad exhaust looks and sounds awesome, IMO!

I actually, purposely, didn't go with the M bumpers as I had the quad exhaust and M wheels and was very conscious of looking like I pseudo-M. I was also reluctant to de-badge for the same reason, but in the end thought, screw it, and did it anyway.

As you say, each to their own :)

(to add, just to send myself up, details in my sig)

You see them all the time....

M3 on a Z4....
M5 on a 520D...
'M' badges on 318is...

Pathetic!

This is the worst I've seen though....and I created it :)

PS - you car mods sound great- just trying to make a point that as you quite rightly say 'each to their own' and if it makes the guy feel good with his M badges on his BM saloon then thats OK by me!

Yeah, I know what you mean - to be honest with that post I thought I'd better get in before anyone else  I just cannot get my head around people wanting their cars appear to be something they're not!

yup, saw an old battered 318 compact the other day (actually pulling into halfords car park)... dull black paint, rust spots, dents, scratches scuffs... & pristine shiny ///M badge on the back

Loads kick about the south side of Glasgow. Mostly all driven by young Asian blokes.

Saw an old 5 series on the way home today with a big ///M5 badge on the back. Only had one exhaust on the left hand side. Maybe it was an ///M and I'm doing the guy a dis-service but I doubt it.

There's also a white 1 series estate that parks quite near me everyday with a nice shiny ///M badge on the back. Also has a Toyo tyres sticker and an Alpine sticker on the side of the car.

The thing I don't understand about this is that you have to know a thing or two about cars to know what an ///M badge means. So you'll probably know when an ///M isn't an ///M.

Your average person probably has noclue what an ///M badge means and cares even less. So who are these people who stick ///M badges on non ///M cars trying to fool? Just themselves maybe?

Exclusive spy shot of the first EVER diesel M BMW!
