Rawalpindi in Pakistan, back in 1996. One 747 to turn around, had the place in panic mode. We were very glad for an early invite to board the plane. Far better on board, sipping free drinks, than in the 44 C heat of the Departure lounge.

Hyderabad ... Because they nicked my suitcase and I had to source my replacement clothes etc locally for 3 weeks!

Domodedova (Moscow) because they take 2 hours to process you through immigration and the taxi into Moscow is another 2 hours. And I have to do it every week.

A massive +1. That's why, I turned the job i was offered down. The flight may only be 3hr 10 but it's all the other stuff. It's supposed to be Moscow's modern new airport but it's a chaotic s**t hole. I've never been anywhere where they take as long to look at your passport.

Another one for me is Antigua. When I went 10 years ago the "international" airport was a corrugated iron shed with a few fans in 95f heat. Not pleasant.

Oh and the major problem with Birmingham airport is that you have no idea how long it will take you to drive there! The road network around Birmingham is abysmal. It's a tip of a place. Yet again today it took me 1 hour 15 minutes to get to the M6 J5 from home (about 60 miles) but then 50 minutes to go from there to the centre of town (3 miles). Always the same - the slightest increase in traffic volumes and the whole dump of a place grinds to a halt. I drive to most major cities in the UK and Birmingham is by far the worst of all (apart from London) for road congestion.

Miami Intl on the Friday before the Bank Holiday weekend, trying to get a connecting flight to the Caymen Islands with Saudi, Libyan & other choice visas in my passport

Been there twice and only very good experiences! 2008 and 2009

Worst - Benbecula, Outer Hebrides. Not so much a bad airport but a bad flight experience. So windy on take off both wing tips hit the runway before the gear left the tarmac.
Best - Ascension Island. The incoming 777 flight had reverse thrust on before the nose wheel hit the ground because it is so short a runway and passes garishly between two volcano culderas. It was also best experience as there was no security and I got on an Air Portugal flight with a big knife in my coat pocket.
