Worne Leather

Quick question re the leather seats in my 08 3.0si Coupe, which all things considered is in really good condition. The only part i'm not too please with is the left side of the drivers seat, which is worn from what I imagine to be "arse rub" of the previous owner getting in the car

Anyone else have this? I'm not the tallest at 5'10 but it is a bit of a squeeze getting in and I also notice that the button on my suit trousers catches the side quite frequently.

Any tips for entry or leather care? :?

I have very similar issues as you.. Unless the door is wide open I kind of land on the seat with a bit of a thud while catching my trouser button somewhere on the leather.. Also 5'10.

I have read a few good reviews about the products on this page http://www.liquidleather.com/car-shop.html

Not purchased myself yet but will do in the very near future.

+1 for Liquid Leather, spent some time cleaning my seats then did the liquid leather and conditioner, as well as smelling like new it did a great job too

before i get out of the car i was set the seat back to its furthest point so i have more space, but then i'm knowhere near 5'10" - i'd love to be 5'10" - anyother reason why i'm an atheist lol

I imagine any Zed that's had reasonable use has a worn driver's side bolster. It's an obvious way to slow one's descent into the seat. I avoid this friction by placing my hand on the door sill and lowering myself that way. At 6'-2", it is a ways down. I don't contact the bolster at all. Can't seem to get SWMBO to do something similar. Eventually, the passenger side will match the wear on the driver's side caused by the previous owner.

if its black as in mine then try applying black shoe polish to the worn or white areas .
worked a treat on my last 2 bmw's :)
i now have 90k covered yet the leather looks factory fresh

Sadly all leather seats will suffer similar wear over time. Various specialists can provide colour match to restore the leather. I even have some for my interior, which is individual spec colour

Thanks for the replies all. The liquid leather stuff looks ideal, might see if they deliver here.

Don't suppose anyone's used any products by Meguiars? Things like this aren't easy to pick up here and I've found a local dealer but not sure if its any good.

I bought Meguiar's Leather Cleaner and Conditioner and it's 'alright' does the job of cleaning and smelling nice but if you have worn areas it won't resolve them..

Guess it'll do no harm to try it out?

No not at all, I use it to tie me over until I get the proper stuff.. Gives it a lovely leathery smell!

I have that same stuff by Meguiar's. It makes the leather look great overall. For those worn-out areas, it does lessen the worn appearance for a very brief period, but it quickly reverts back to the lightened/worn out shade it was before.
