Well, what a surprise, it was nothing like that - amazing what an entertaining game it can be when neither side really care if they win or lose...
My dream outcome tonight would be Spain going two nil up in the first 10 minutes, and then keeping the ball for the next 90 with a shouts of “Ole!” For every single pass.
For the Spanish team to come out with muleta’s, and avoid every Argentine foul with a Veronica… especially that knob Simeone.
I’d love it if they put the Gatorade in the bin during the hydration (advertising) breaks and broke out jugs of Sangria.
Oh, and a rendition of ‘wonderwall’ in Spanish while the Argentinians were collecting their runners up medals wouldn’t go amiss either.
