World Cup I love it!!

We know we aren't going to win, but it's a chance once every 4 years for the world of football to come together and to see some great matches like last night.

Rather watch that than a bunch of drugged up Lycra clad prats stream through the countryside in some other country's event.
 
I also prefer to watch it at home and not down the pub.

Holland are my 2nd Team. I believe all world cup fans have 2nd Team.

The game last night was as good as Real and Athletico 3 weeks ago....
 
I was a proper mental Holland fan last night. It was magical and i'm glad I witnessed the demolition of a Spanish team full of egotistical arseholes.
 
Loved the line drawing for the 10 yards rule, but think this ref went a bit far in the Croatia game...

Well I can't stand Rugby and I feel the same way about that what some people feel about Rugby....but that's ok with me.....BUT what a game last night and I wish our boys the best of luck tonight.

The other group qualifier is pretty important tonight too...Uruguay could cause us some issues, either against us or how they finish in the group....

Football is played in just about every country in the world and the World Cup is watched by billions and the second biggest global sporting event behind the Olympics. As for Rugby...err, well it isn't is it?

Football isn't called the beautiful game for nothing and like most great inventions it came from these shores.
 
I have heard that's it's bigger than the Olympics now....just based on viewing figures alone.

I watched the Spain V Holland game again today

By the way why have they changed to Netherlands when they used to be Holland?

Brazil and Argentina in the final. I'm not so sure just based on a yesterday's game. Spain might be long in the tooth but they are still a great team
 
Netherlands is the correct term Stark. I believe saying Holland is just us Brits being lazy buggers as Holland only refers to part of the country - be like us calling England "Yorkshire". I'm sure pvr will be along soon to set us all straight soon though :)

Oh, and I loved seeing the Oranje finally come good!
