Trouble is with one trick ponies of the class of Mbappe and Messi, sometimes that's all you need.

I respectfully disagree. Messi is still awesome and Jude Bellingham, given the ball, is absolutely fantastic. He's 19!
Terrible first 35 minutes form England, but once settled in, Bellingham, Saka, Foden and (I hate to say it) Kane were world class. Luke Shaw also put in a good shift (as always). :thumbsup:

England CAN win the world cup. We have the players. Whether they do, or not, depends on nerves and self-belief IMHO.
 
Great win, strong, disciplined performance. Another clean sheet. Our village club was bouncing. Bring on France.
 
Well I'm just watching this afternoon's game.
I thought Qatar was supposed to be a really hot country???
Pretty sure a few times in this game it's looked like there's a nip in the air.
 
That’s Englands problem. At this stage, against this class of opposition, be terrible for 35 mins and you could be several goals down.
 
Shocked and disappointed to see Japan go out with such lame penalties, really poor.
If England ever need to win on penalties I hope they make a better effort.
