Money comes and goes but your limited on the number of days you can spend with family and close friends.

Well to be honest Christmas is one day. I see my family and friends all year... The people I work with are somebody's family and friends so I'm happier at work and not getting paid extra for it. Might even wear my Santa hat or angel hair band. Actually looking forward to Christmas at work, from past experience everyone is usually in a great mood and its lots of fun. People bring in vast amounts of nice food too. Could be worse.

Have to agree, admittedly playing the piano for an hour or two isn't hard/ proper work in comparisson to the day job, but being at a hotel or where ever for a couple of hours is a pleasure... chat to guests, play requests and generally enjoy being part of the fun atmosphere.

As you say people are in a good mood!

All done until 2nd Jan :drinkwine: , then off to São Paulo and Costa Rica for 10 days for work 8)

I meant that part of the world..Central and S America. Have travelled a fair bit but never to this region.

Nice places, can recommend Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires is nice, I'll let you know about Costa Rica.

I worked in both places and they are very different. Both have massive divides between rich and poor.

I felt "safer" in Costa Rica though (i.e. did not need a dedicated driver which I did get in SP).

No work for me, but i have two friends that are working voluntarily on xmas day & boxing day at local christian centre helping to feed the elderly and homeless folk, hats off to them.

Anyone what to do my paediatric surgery oncall for me Christmas Day and Boxing Day? Basic understanding if plumbing required only

Before I retired used to go in every xmas day afternoon - got me out of the washing up after xmas dinner and gained a whole lot of sympathy as a bonus - got away with this for years.
