Who on here has to work on xmas and boxing day? I do..im on an oil rig so not even a drop of booze for me untill atleast the 28th :(

My daughter (17) will be working for the first time this year. Some family who couldn't be bothered is paying her £100 to do the veg for their Xmas dins. She thinks its great!

I do not have to work - however I am now telepathically sending you the sound of a choir singing oh come all ye faithful and the smell of a fine malt whiskey to help tide you over. I am fairly confident you'll receive them as I am now in Fife and a lot closer than normal

Stay safe Hunter

Another offshore worker ehh Hunter?

I'm getting off the Dunbar today as the sea state will be to high tomorrow. Just have the Joys of getting home after that!

I've done 2 out of the last 5 years Christmas's and Birthdays, it sucks but that's the life we choose and only working 22 weeks a year makes up for it!

Say hi to paddy the ginger whinger for me lol (area authority)

She's working in the Bath area. She's just passed her first course with Prue Leith's food and wine school and they operate an agency for their students. She did that through school and will be doing the second and third terms in Jan '14 in London.

I was talking to a friend whose wife does private dining, and she has no shortage of clients paying £2000 for a dinner party! :o

Oh and Happy Xmas to Hunter!

First time since I've known my wife that she's had Christmas AND New Year off, the benefits of maternity leave. But we've got a 5-week old to keep us sober and enjoy it with!

nope... last days at work are the 27th and 28th, and then holidays... :D

Sorry you have to work though :( Crack a case of beer at work at the end of the day

Nope.

Last week was enough for me. Community Pharmacy Manager. Never known anything like it. 1,500 prescriptions yesterday alone!
I think when the world didn't end everyone decided to be ill instead!

Working Xmas eve 'til 6pm then that's it until 8am Thursday.
Got to watch the booze Boxing Day but other than that......... :D

Same, working Christmas and Boxing Day, can't have a drink. I can on Christmas Eve however :D Not too bothered about missing out on festivities as have a week in the alps from 29th and New Years in the mountains is for me one of the best things ever! Can't wait.

I'm on stand by for work 24 till 6 Jan

Probably have to go in a few days the way things are looking with breakdowns at the moment too :(
