So no level controls ?

Since it’s all a Heinz 57 I’d say it will work OK..maybe better than a 676 system..maybe not..audio preferences are such a personal thing..

I’d imagine compared to the stock 6 speaker system it will appear ‘strong’, ‘full bodied’..

Technically for many reasons it’s not on the same level as a modern DSP based system..but it’s a fraction of the price.

I’d imagine a bit of ‘twiddling’ Will make it sound pretty good to your ears..even though technically it will be far from ‘perfect’..

You could always revisit it later if you ‘pine’ for more..eg added DSP, better quality speakers..

So go for it..

Long answer… :tumbleweed:

It looks like you've gone beyond what you didn't want to do in the first place!
£360 on amplifiers, I didn't spend anywhere near that on my entire 676 retrofit.
For the retrofit all I needed was...
2 x subwoofers (£90)
1 x amplifier (£45)
1 x amplifier bracket (£15)
1 x amplifier plug (£15)
1 x front centre speaker (£45)
Wiring.

You've created something that may not work how you want it to, and a lot of hassle to find out. Don't get me wrong, it may very well work perfectly, and I hope it does

You may well be right, the trouble was I didn’t initially intend to go this far, it just seemed to snowball from replacing the door speakers and fitting tweeters to the re code the head unit to then fitting one amp, then the subs and an amp for them to then adding a third amp  :headbang:

It’s a pleasure to see a project spinning out of control… :tumbleweed:

I fitted some Chinese speakers and factory rear subs. Sound has gone from 2/10 to 6/10. Music sounds like it's in a sports hall.
My home Yamaha surround sounds great.
I wonder if a 2nd hand home surround fitted in car would sound better, cheap 2nd hand rather than these after market amps.
I know my friend years ago put hifi on back seats!

Yeah the way it goes sometimes

Another question mainly for Peter (B21)or Dave (AnubisZed) but I’d welcome others advice as well.
As I have 2 spare channels from the amps, would it be advisable to wire these up to the door tweeters (there the same ones Dave recommends in his original speaker upgrade) or am I liable to overpower them? I’m not sure on their Ohm rating.
TIA

Extremely easy to destroy tweeters with direct drive from amps..imho best to drive the 100mm and tweeter with one channel with the correct passive crossover..

Totally agree, no need for the additional feed for the tweeters.

As a side note, if coding 676, then you'll notice a definitive audible difference from the rear 1/4 speakers, as opposed to the standard (non 676) setting where the rear 1/4 speakers are almost unnoticeable. You'll definitely hear them, well I certainly do, but then I have also added tweeters to the rear 1/4 midrange (you need to cut out the hole for this and glue the tweeter in place) as its plug-n-play same as the fronts.

Thanks both, that’s a great help, and I have noticed that the rear speakers are more noticeable so I may add a couple of tweeters to them 👍

Remember they will need a crossover to avoid bring fried,.

Thanks, I’ll probably get it all set up and see how it sounds with just the door tweeters first, but no doubt I’ll end up fitting some rear ones as well.

So long as you use the specific OEM tweeters fed directly from the second port of the midrange then you'll be fine as they are set up that way.

Quick update
Rear subs fitted, ended up getting some 8” horn speaker covers and cut out the rear panel to suit using a dremel with a narrow cutting disc and then used a small sanding bit to get a good fit.

And all put back together.

Just t need to finalise fitting the amps to the rear bulkhead and get everything balanced up but it’s definitely a great improvement on the base system.
