Wonky Steering

Hi all,

Recently the steering wheel has to be pointed slightly left to drive straight!

I've took the steering wheel off a few times to stitch on suede trim but was careful in removing the wheel. But the issue wasn't present immediately after reinstalling the wheel..

The Zed just passed it's MOT 2 days ago (Issue was present before I sent it off for MOT).

Could this be a suspension issue that has been missed or most likely just needs a hunter alignment?

Cheers!

Probably a bit of both, the alignment drifts out as suspension parts wear and obviously a clouted or potholed front wheel will do the same. Mine passed an MOT with no comments but when I refreshed the suspension a few hundred miles later bushes on the the ARBs, lollypop and the drop-links were quite slack and will all affect alignment.

Just a warning, the track rod ends on 3 series / Z4's are famous for seizing solid, usually the near-side according to my alignment guy who keeps them in stock! This prevents adjustment on that side and will need replacing before the alignment can be done properly. Lazy alignment techs will try and get away with adjusting one side only to get a correct reading, this will then leave the wheel off-centre.
