Wonderful start to the New Year - not!

 Lancs.
All set for a top down drive under blue skies to Mums for New Year's day and feast on my only roast dinner of the year when I noticed back rear tyre is flat and a pancake :headbang:
Dinner cancelled, having to wait until tomorrow to get it repaired :(

Not the best start indeed Colin. :x

Though you probably could have made a decent repair on that one your self. I have a puncture kit in the boot for such occasions. Takes about twenty minutes I have repaired two now. Being paranoid I have exchanged both tyres within a few days. Far better than waiting hours for a truck then having to replan your entire week.

Not the one I have but similar. Obviously I also have to carry a jack, wrench and the standard compressor on the///M. But they take up far less space than a spare. I did have one total blowout that would not fix but they are very rare things. Plus if the damage is near the side wall it is illegal to fix it. Happily not had one of those, yet. :D

Thanks fellas, puncture sorted first thing by National Tyres :)
Off out for the day top down to make up for yesterday's non-event :driving:

Glad to hear that yours was repairable  .

Every time I've had a puncture, my local tyre place tell me its unrepairable and sell me a new tyre :headbang:

Yeah, I was unlucky and lucky - the screw punctured the centre of the tyre, if its close to the sidewall its non-repairable.
Anyway cost me £19, a relief as there's lots of tread left :)

That’s bad luck but at least it was repairable. I had one on our 330d when the rft had only done 4000 miles. Had to have a new one, £225 ouch :x Mind you if there had been more wear I might have had to buy two tyres. On the X drive cars there mustn’t be more than a few mms difference in tread depth between tyres on the same axle. So I suppose I got off lightly. Shame about missing the roast dinner. I would have been upset about that..

I’ve used these many times over the years as well & never had an issue with them, easy to use and on your way in a jiffy
