Hmm

I have looked at similar things myself. The first thing it will fail on is the MOT. It will also need an IVA and I don't know whether it would pass or fail that - the wing would fail.

Then as a race car it is probably stiff as hell, noisy too. That and driving a car with a full cage is very dangerous if you don't have a helmet on.

Would also scrape over every bump it sees as that thing is very low.

Bet it'd be awesome though... but a serious compromise.

The cage point never occurred to me before - but it makes sense.

I assume a car modified like this doesn't require airbags because of the seats/harnesses/cage, I you'd need them re-installed too.

It's a race car though - not a modified coupe - would be a shame to compromise it for the road - track day super fun??

Did you not see the Top Gear episode where James May (Captain Slow) chooses an Aston Martin 'race car' for a road trip through Europe. . .

:driving:

Competition cars are horrible on the road. One of my Jeeps is full comp spec and it's a pig on the road. Roll cages, race harnesses, no airbags due to navigation equipment, special gear ratios, cross cut gears that whine, compressor running to power the diffs, and on and on.

You'd be better to buy a £15 road car and spend the £30k building whatever you wanted and still end up the same price

This times ten , I stopped for fuel returning from an October ring trip once and was talking to a couple of guys in a track prepped integra , caged , plastic windows , no heater , and they were returning further north than me , it was cold , their windscreen was fogged up and both were wearing coats in the car , it didn't look much fun to me
