Wobbly shift knob

OK so the title should have read 'I think I've pulled my knob off so many times that now whenever I hold it, it revolves slighty from side to side'

So there are 2 types of responses expected:

1) Ooh err, another opportunity for knob jokes  or,

2) Is there a way of fixing the selector lever, so that it no longer moves from side to side without bonding it on the shaft, or do I have to shell out for a new one?

It's a minor nuisance but bugs me as it makes the shift mechanism seem sloppy.

There is a ring halfway down the bar, you have to really push the lever down to get it over this edge. When I fitted mine, it was not low enough and I would hold it in my hand a number of times ...

Now I have pushed it properly down (included is also that I have a hex screw in mine as part of the STORM knob).

I would suggest if that does not work, to drill a small hole at the top end of your lever, and put a small flush hex screw in there which will catch just below the ridge, hence preventing the lever from coming up again.

It's certainly as far down as it's going to go and fully located. I think some sort of internal channel and groove alignment is strained.

Not sure a small hole can be drilled in the top the lever is a polished alloy strip up the face and over the top (standard auto lever)
I'll have a good look AM and see if I can find a way to add secondary securing to it.

Reluctant to glue it as for sure then it needs ot come off again a week later...

You would not drill at the top, it is at the bottom of the shaft, about 10 mm from the bottom. There is a grove in the bar and the lever needs to clamp on that.
