Wobbly Sat Nav Holder

I bought a Sat nav holder the other day for my phone (HTC HD2), and the damn thing vibrates and shakes so much that I find my self looking at the screen longer than its safe to do... I'm not sure if this is because of the car's suspension or whether its just 'cos I bought a crapy Sat Nav holder

Any thoughts/experiences welcome...

That would never have happened with an OEM Sat Nav system :)

I bet it doesn't - and I'm not adventurous enough to try and retro-fit an OEM system so aftermarket it is!

In more serious answer to your question the car and suspension are what they are. I'd have to point to the sat nav holder being too flexible. Only you can tell by seeing if it's the suction or stem that flexing.

If it's a screen suction mount with a flexible arm then yes it will wobble all over the place and no doubt magnified in a Z4 as it has a much stiffer ride than most.

I can (independently I might add) recommend the Brodit mount. Works very well and no vibration.

I started a thread when I joined the Z4 forum as I was looking for a quality mount. My thread is here:

Hope it helps.

F1ADAM - thanks for the link & associate content. After looking into the Brodit stuff I have decied to go for this http://www.coolsmartphone.com/article806.html

I took into account how much I am going to use the phone as a sat nav and decided that the HTC alternative is going to better for me as it will have the added benefits of sitting on my desk when i'm at work, as well as a few others...

The prices were pretty close once I had both the clip + bracket + delivery put together, but the multi-use benefits were a little too much to ignore!

Thanks again.

Bounax,

Pleased the info was of some use.

Would be interested to know how you get on with HTC offering.
