A recent post about my Z4 told you that a head light wire had shorted out the light switch component..

Finally got it installed and all was good, least I thought it was good till I drove to work.....
Only to be pulled over by Highway Patrol....

Lights go on in my rear view.... Police..Highway....

Look at speed and I'm four over limit in a 65mph ...... "Bullcrap." Stop on a side lane.

Usual, License, registration, proof of insurance....., walked away to his car. Lights still glowing like I'm busted. Dammed nansy pansy.

Comes back and tells me I'm good but.....

"Sir, do you know you have no tail lights?"

What the Fugg?

So I did the walk around and assured him that I did not and wtf?

So the light modual was defective, tho the dealer is crying foul, we don't send defective parts, theirs something wrong with your car, to which I replied I plugged in the old one and I have tail lights so tell me how your part/modual does not light them up but everything else is fine.

Much jawing back and forth and finally, after they get the part back said a circuit on the board was diffidently not soldered in properly, so that part of the board shot to crap when it got juice from the battery.

I was like, "No crap Sherlock."

New unit on it's way.

Why does this has to be so hard?
Praying this one is not "Defective"... but my luck a new issue will crop up. I'm aware of the tamper proof dot, not synced to the car crap, don't care.
Send me a non faulty modual.

Mean while, I'm still driving this car like I stole it and loving every minute of it.

These things happen Kap'n but thankfully you had a nice friendly highway patrol man acting as an independent witness :-0
Who knows the next one to have spotted it might not have been so forgiving.
I think the unwritten rule over here is to say whatever light is not working was functional when checked just before you set off. Given that statement then plod is obliged to accept you simply didn't know a problem existed.
